Day #3

CompetitionDay two brings the culmination of months of hard work, preparation and anticipation for the teams. After the Awquitas Capital Management Semifinal Round presentations in the morning, tensions are high. Only five teams are selected to advance to the Intel Capital Final Round, a chance to share more than $70,000 in cash prizes. Each team has fifteen minutes to present its plan before a seasoned panel of judges that include venture capitalists, business executives and experienced entrepreneurs. Presentations are followed by a hard-hitting, twenty minute "Q&A" session. The key element of this round is the extensive judges' private feedback session that elevates the learning experience to a new level. The second day concludes with the Finalist Announcement Reception where teams anxiously await the decision: Will it be the Intel Capital Final Round or the OEN Lightning Round?Competition

A tradition of the New Venture Championship® is the keynote luncheon.  The 2007 keynote luncheon featured the announcement of a $5 million gift to the University of Oregon by one of the NVC's key sponsors, Tim Boyle, President and CEO of Columbia Sportswear. This generous gift supports the NVC award pool as well as the continuation of the School of Journalism and Communications' role as the NVC's marketing communication agency.
