OVERVIEW
The New Venture Championship® (NVC) is one of the preeminent business plan competitions in the world. Presented by the University of Oregon’s Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship (LCE), the NVC offers $60,000 in cash prizes and attracts schools from across the nation and halfway around the world.The first NVC was held in 1992 in a classroom at the University of Oregon. Only three teams participated, the prize pool was less than three hundred dollars, and there were no corporate sponsors.
The UO Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship’s 19th annual New Venture Championship® will be held on April 8-10, 2010 at the historic Multnomah Hotel-The Embassy Suites, Downtown at 319 S.W. Pine, - Just minutes from the waterfront and downtown Portland business district.
We owe a great deal of gratitude and attribute much of the NVC's success to our sponsors include such notable companies as Columbia Sportswear, Intel Capital, and Tektronix, who share our vision and embrace our educational goals. Not only do they provide generous financial support to the NVC but they also provide professional support by allowing members of their executive management teams to participate as judges. The LCE has created an unequalled learning experience for student competitors made up of many challenging events over 3 tension-filled and exhilarating days including: Start-Up Round, Trade-Show and Elevator Pitch, Semifinal Round, Finalist Round, and Lightning Round.
